The People vs. Alex Cross by James Patterson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
One of the better Alex Cross books, in my opinion. While I always enjoy the series, I feel they are pretty formulamatic - a killer kills someone, Cross investigates, there's some sort of family drama, the serial killer begins to target Cross, Cross wins, and everyone goes home. This isn't a bad thing - there's a reason I enjoy the Cross series; they're fun, easy to follow, and engaging.
This one was different. While there were two concurrent crimes being investigated - Cross's trial and the case of the missing blondes - they did not really overlap and I thought it was a refreshing take on this series. It did a great job of blending courtroom drama, kidnapping thrillers, and the Dark Web mysteries.
Worth the read (or listen in my case).
