Run Away by Harlan Coben
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Coben never fails to disappoint in his novels. The formulas remain the same, but they're welcome to his fans. What seems to be two (or three or more depending how you look at it) unconnected plot lines slowly converge until a shocking reveal at the end.
I'll admit that I saw how two of the threads were going to come together early on, and with about 5% of the book I was feeling like this was going to be another typical Coben thriller (which is still better than most). However, the twist in the epilogue single-handedly raised this book from the norm to an excellent one and retroactively made the other plots have a deeper impact.
Thrills, action, mystery, cults, and implications of a newer trend (no spoilers) work together to make a very quick and exciting read. Highly recommend this fans of Coben and all thriller authors.
