Review: The Grand Escape: The Greatest Prison Breakout of the 20th Century

The Grand Escape: The Greatest Prison Breakout of the 20th Century The Grand Escape: The Greatest Prison Breakout of the 20th Century by Neal Bascomb
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Fascinating tale of the capture, internment, escape attempts and failures, and eventual success of British Officers in World War I. Though it has a slower start and some confusion with the large array of soldiers, the second half is absolutely riveting. I enjoyed this book and it helped me to learn more about WWI, a topic I am severely lacking in knowledge.

It reminded me of various fiction and nonfiction books about Holocaust concentration camp escaped from WWII. Fans of historical non fiction will enjoy this book.
