False Step by Victoria Helen Stone
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
While you can probably guess the broad plot threads of this book from the plot synopsis, it's still worth a read. What seems like an idyllic family with newfound hero status eventually devolves into a myriad of social horror and deception.
Honestly, most of the characters were very unlikable, but I enjoyed reading about them. It gave a glimpse into behind the curtain of modern day marriage - or a twisted mirror of one. While the book is well written, the suspense/mystery is lacking, so don't expect too much of twists and turns.
This isn't a super long review, but it's a fast paced read that would be enjoyable for a beach day.
