While this can technically be read as a standalone, I definitely recommend starting from the first book in the series. It will help explain some backstory and fully understand the characters.

I enjoyed this one just as much as the first. I was happy to see that it had a similar narrative, with two storylines coming together at the end. However, I hope this doesn't become an overused trope in this series.

It ends on a giant cliffhanger, which I hate, but I'm eventually going to cave and buy the next one in the series. I might wait til book 4 comes out so I don't have to wait.
