Survive the Night by Riley Sager
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Each of Sager's books have been an absolute treat to read. This one is no different. Oddly reminiscent of The Hitcher film, this one brings Charlie and Josh together on a nighttime road trip that quickly turns deadly. Throw in a dash of delusions and apparent schizophrenia and you're not quite sure what to believe. Setting the book in the 90s was a nice touch too, since our protagonists can't just call for help on their cell phones, which heightens the drama. There are a multitude of twists throughout the book, some of them more telegraphed than others. Definitely worth a read!
