Jeff Menapace has something of a gift for writing twisted, dark thrillers that feature the violent and repulsive antics of back country folk. Yet, I can't seem to stop reading them! After being hooked on the Bad Games series, I transitioned to the Wildlife series. Honestly, while a lot of the Bad Games series is about psychological horror, this series is one of gruesome and violence. As an avid fan of the Saw series, this is not a bad thing, but these books are not for the faint of heart.

After the events of the Swamp Massage from Wildlife, all seems well in the world... until we meet the the extended Roy family, who makes the family from the first book seem like downright pacifists. The book amps up the stakes and action, all culminating in a wild climax. If you liked the first one, you'll love this one!
