The Crossing by Michael Connelly
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
A 3 is my way of saying I didn't love nor hate the book. I thought it was a decent thriller, if a bit overwrought and requiring a lot of suspension of disbelief. I thought the courtroom scenes were done well, but the overall conspiracy seemed a bit confusing to keep up with.
I did really enjoy the inner turmoil of Bosch as he crossed to the "other side" and thought this was one of the stronger parts of the whole book.
I also have never read a Bosch/Haller book, so I may be missing characterization and formats. I thought it was akin to a James Patterson/Lee Child series where you don't inherently have to read the other books in the series to get this one. I will try out some others of the series and see if it retroactively helps fill in the gaps.
