Midnight at the Bright Ideas Bookstore by Matthew J. Sullivan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This was and enjoyable and straightforward read, that combined element of mystery and horror thriller. I enjoyed the various narrative, timeline, and character description. I enjoyed the various characters, timelines, and how the various plot lines played out.
I will admit that I was able to figure out a number of the so-called mysteries in the story. However, there were enough twists and turns but did leave me pleasantly surprised. I was a fan of how it tied all of the plot lines together in a cohensive and nature way.
I would definitely recommend skipping the second half of the epilogue, however. I don’t see how it added anything to the story and I really felt that the final chapter and first half of the epilogue was a fitting conclusion. The writing was a bit bland at times throughout the book, as well. The romance sub plot also could be been entirely cut.
Nonetheless, it makes for an enjoyable summer read. I recommend checking it out from your local library.
