The Whisper Man by Alex North
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
While I did enjoy this book, I don't quite get the hype. I finished this book three days ago, and I have already begun to forget the plot. That doesn't warrant 'Book of the Year' status to me.
It's a pretty standard kidnapping thriller, which is still an enjoyable read. I think the best part was how the kidnapping plot(s) span the three generations of men.
The book is a very slow start and takes a while to get into. I had a hard time keeping an interest in it, but the last half/third is a very solid plot/pace.
I do still recommend you check it out, but keep your expectations low.
