Wall of Silence by Tracy Buchanan
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This is a hard book to rate. For the first two thirds, it's a solid 2/5. The husband is found stabbed, surrounded by his kids. No one seems to know who did it or why. For about 200 pages, there is really no progression from this moment. It took me about five days to get through that part.
The last third took me about two hours. Suddenly, more and more of the mystery is revealed and the pace quickens. I also really liked the "Facebook" group sections, as well as the diary entries from the attempted murderer.
However, I can't overlook the glaring pacing problems and some unresolved plotlines. About 100 pages could have probably been trimmed from this book and make it a better thriller.
I won't recommend or not recommend this book - form your own opinion. It might be a better experience as an audiobook.
