Daylight by David Baldacci
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Atlee Pine is back at it in another great entry to her series. These books seem to follow the same pattern - Pine starts investigating a personal mystery, falls into a larger conspiracy, which happens to tie back into her personal mystery. It's classic Hardy Boys.
I felt the Atlee/Mercy storyline was stronger than the conspiracy mystery, but I could definitely see the latter being plausible in the present day. As with all mystery books, it's hard to review it without giving much away, but there is a ton of action and suspense.
I love the series and can't wait for the next one. Baldacci, you've done it again!
One final thing to note - Another of Baldacci's mainstays, John Puller, "co-starring" in this entry was a nice touch. It was very reminiscent of when Robie made an appearance in the last Decker book. I assume Baldacci is building towards an Avengers-type team up even.... I'm just waiting for Stone to show up at the end of one of the novels, welcoming all the main characters to the "Baldacci Initiative" a la Nick Fury.
ARC from NetGalley, but I was planning to purchase this one on my own.
